With over 30 years of experience as a surfing athlete and 20 years as a surf coach, Dr. Nuno Goncalves brings a deep understanding of the health and recovery needs of athletes. His passion for promoting optimal health led him to pursue a Bachelor’s degree in Osteopathy from Instituto de Medicina Tradicional, Portugal, in 2010, followed by an Advanced Course in Osteopathy from Lusofona University, Portugal, in 2013.
Driven by his dedication to comprehensive care, Nuno further expanded his expertise in the field by completing two specialized courses in Paediatric Osteopathy. These courses were conducted by renowned institutions such as L’associazione Italiana per la Divulgazione della Cultura Osteopatica (in partnership with Master Physical Therapy) and Deport Medicine Center (Spain). Additionally, he has received Basic Life Support (BLS) training from the American Heart Association, ensuring his ability to handle emergency situations.
Nuno is proficient in various osteopathic techniques, including structural osteopathy for manipulative and soft tissue techniques, visceral osteopathy to enhance organ function, and cranio-sacral osteopathy, which involves gentle touch to release membranes and improve fluid dynamics.
His expertise extends to treating individuals of all ages, from newborn babies to adults, addressing a wide range of acute and chronic complaints. Nuno is dedicated to providing personalized care that addresses the root causes of discomfort and promotes overall well-being.
Beyond his professional pursuits, Nuno remains an active enthusiast of outdoor sports activities, practicing Jiu-jitsu, and cherishing quality time playing with his two young sons.
